Wonderful radicchio

The Franchi Sementi agent in the USA, Seed from Italy, has recently run a photo competition and the winner was a small farm that only uses horse drawn power. Beautiful radicchio photos and information on growing. This easy to grow and iconic Italian vegetable needs to be planted mid-late summer for heading varieties, so that it matures in the cold weather. It is a slow grower and initially forms a loose bunch of leaves that forms a solid head with maturity. For the story and further growing information click here
