Prefers a sunny, sheltered position in fertile, free draining soil. Hates temperatures below 8 degrees, and will not tollerate frost. Grows well in pots and late summer plantings will allow your basil to be nursed well into winter in a sunny window or greenhouse.

We're in Berrima, Southern Highlands, NSW. We grow this variety in our flourishing school garden at Berrima Public School. It is vigorous, very productive and has exceptional flavour, noticably different from your average "sweet basil" from the local garden centre. Haven't tasted it this good before.

This is my second year of growing this basil from your seed. It sure beats buying punnets from the nursery which just seem to run to seed. I plant it among my tomatoes (to hopefully ward off pests). It is strong in growth and flavour. It is a wonderful strain of this versatile herb.
