Loading... Please wait...A popular vegetable in Europe, Celeriac is a close relative of celery and lovage, with the swollen corm being eaten raw in salads and cooked in soups and mash. Plant in the spring in full sun or partial shade and keep well watered and fed. Bianco di Veneto (white from Venice) forms 8-12 cm diameter roots with a delicate flavour and are stringless.
This variety recommended by Maggie Beer in Gardening Australia Magazine. See review below.

"My choice this year was bianco del Veneto. It yields the slightly smaller bulbs I prefer......
Bianco del Veneto corms range in size from that of a Granny Smith to the size of a softball or larger. They are virtually stringless, so can be grated raw into salads or cooked into soup, mash or my favourite, remoulade."
