Plant in rich, open soil directly in the ground. Not suited to pots. prefers hot weather with humidity, and must be grown under glass or plastic in cooler climates. Sow early spring after soaking seed in water for 24 hours, discarding any seeds that float. Sow in seed raising mix or direct in the ground when minimum temperatures exceed 15 degrees. Thin to 20 cm apart. Harvest in 8-11 weeks.
