Attractive and delicious artichokes
Posted by
onNeed a good structural plant that also delivers than try artichokes. Their striking foliage and form is great as a background to lower plantings of either edible or ornamental plants. I planted Artichoke Green Globe in a front garden in the autumn and they are growing well, although suffered some wind damage in the recent rough weather in Adelaide. I am looking forward to spring when they should deliver their buds for my table. Watch this space.
The other artichoke I sell is called "violetto precoce" (early purple) and it is a more primitive plant with beautiful grey-green foliage and more elongate buds that are sometimes thorny.
